The Long Road After Waking

The Long Road After Waking is a storytelling game for 2 players. It uses the major arcana of any tarot deck to help you tell a story about an Ascendant who wishes to reach enlightenment, and the dream Road that presents them with obstacles to achieving it. One player plays the Road, the other plays the Ascendant.

All devotees of the Road know this: that walking the Road will lead you to the place beyond, the center of dreams where your ritual of transcendence will be completed.  If you travel until the end, and go into the place beyond, you will awake forever changed, purified and transformed. But no one can tell you what you will encounter on the way there. 

You have prepared as best you can. You have followed the rituals and read the lore. But you cannot know if it will be enough until you walk the Road—and if you leave the Road, you may be lost in dreams forever.
